World-class women

Four of our leaders have been shortlisted for this year’s WeQual Awards, recognising them as female executive members of the future.

The WeQual Awards were created by Katie Litchfield (former Executive Director of the Financial Times) to identify world-class women, one level below executive committees.

From her own career experiences, Katie recognised the need to drive a gender rebalance in leadership teams. The awards play a valuable role in making this possible, recognising and celebrating women on the cusp of leading UK FTSE-listed companies.

Huge congratulations to our leaders who have been selected as finalists for their drive, leadership, integrity, confidence and business knowledge:

  • Sharon Singh, Head of Operations
  • Amelia Cree, Head of Marketing
  • Nicola Arrow, Head of Food Category Management
  • Maria Franklin, Head of HR Business Partnering

They’ll be interviewed by a panel of business leaders from the likes of Visa, National Grid, ASOS and IHG in the next few weeks, before heading to the awards ceremony in September.

HR Director Liam said: “Diversity encourages different perspectives, and means we have a richer and more balanced approach to the way we run our business. Female leaders in positions of influence – like our four finalists – serve as role models for our future talent, which is critical to the career advancement of women at Marston’s.

“Our four finalists have been recognised for their current and future potential in their field of expertise. They’ve got an excellent reputation in the business thanks to their incredible work ethic and ability to achieve great results, and their spot in the final is truly deserved! Well done Maria, Amelia, Sharon and Nic – Marston’s is supporting you all the way!”
