Christmas acts of kindness

The Saxon King delivered a Christmas dinner to a regular customer and The Sarsen Stone offered a table to anyone on their own on Christmas Day.

James, General Manager at The Saxon King in Southend, received a phone call on Sunday morning from a regular customer to cancel a booking. When the team realised that the customer wasn’t coming in because he didn’t want to eat alone, they took a Christmas dinner straight to his door.

General Manager Chrissie, at The Sarsen Stone, put a call out on the pub’s Facebook page offering a table to anyone who will be alone on Christmas Day. The video reached over 3,000 people in 24 hours. Click here to give it a watch.

Chrissie said: “Not everyone is lucky enough to spend Christmas with family and we wanted to change that for a few as part of the campaign to end loneliness. I always think, if you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way!”

Well done James and Chrissie, you’re true community heroes!

We absolutely love these Christmas acts of kindness! Got one of your own? Let us know in the comments below 🙂
