Team Blacksmiths to the rescue

The team at the Blacksmiths Arms – a Leased pubs in Naburn – jumped in to give lifesaving assistance to a local customer.

Landlord Tony and Chef James jumped in to help a 78 year old customer, after he collapsed at the bar.

Local customers with medical training carried out lifesaving CPR, whilst James ran to the local village to grab the defibrillator. With the help of Anne Clark, local Parish Councillor, they were able to find a pulse before the ambulance arrived. Once the first responders were on the scene, the customer was quickly airlifted to hospital.

The team has since been given the good news that the customer is recovering well in hospital. Tony said: “I’m immensely proud of my team and everyone that helped. When something like that happens and everyone runs to help, it restores your faith that there are good people out there. It was the best result possible.”

The York Press covered the story on the front page last week.

Well done team, you’ve done us proud!
