Taverns pub The William IV in Mansfield went above and beyond when disaster struck in its local community.
After a huge fire broke out just down the road, the team at The William IV provided Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service firefighters with a cup of tea and rest bite from the blaze.
The pub stayed open until the early hours (5am!), giving firefighters a chance to recharge before tackling the burning building again.
Customers have taken to social media to praise their local for going the extra mile – so far, the post has had more than 100 shares and reached almost 10,000 people in less than 12 hours. And, Landlord Chris was interviewed by the local ITV news team for a bulletin that aired over the weekend.
We’re so proud – community spirit at its best! Well done, team 🙂
