Bronze for Wainwright

Wainwright has been awarded a bronze medal in this year’s International Beer Challenge.

The International Beer Challenge promotes top-quality beers from across the globe. There are 72 different categories and entries come in from more than 30 different countries.

The judges – made up of retailers, importers, publicans, buyers, brewers, writers and flavour analysts – rigorously blind taste test every beer before awarding bronze, silver and gold in each category. Beers are scored for aroma, appearance, taste and finish.

Wainwright clinched a bronze award in the ‘best golden ale’ category. Originally brewed as a seasonal beer, it quickly became a hit with drinkers all year round for its bright golden colour and delicate fruitiness. Judges praised the beer’s lightly hopped aroma and its refreshing taste.

This is a big win for us, competing against 13 other leading ales. Brand Manager Kirsty said: “We know how much our consumers enjoy the beer, so to get industry recognition as well is the icing on the cake. The beer was up against some of the best in the market, so it’s a real credit to the brewers behind it.”
