Made in the Black Country

We’re proud to support Black Country Day on Saturday. It’s a great opportunity to celebrate the diversity and strength of business in the Black Country.

Black Country Day celebrates the region’s industrial heritage (it’s the anniversary of the invention of world’s first steam engine, built in the Black Country in 1712!) and encourages local people to shout about the brilliant place they live and work in.

We’re really proud of our history and heritage in the Black Country – it’s the home of Banks’s Brewery, many of our pubs, and our award-winning support centre, Marston’s House.

Beer’s been brewed from the same spot in Wolverhampton as far back as 1875 when Banks’s and Company was born. Today, our Victorian Park Brewery is TripAdvisor’s no.1 attraction in Wolverhampton and we love sharing our love of beer with hundreds of visitors every year.

We refurbished Marston’s House – which sits right next door to Banks’s Brewery – back in 2016, creating a futuristic and innovate workplace that also celebrates our fantastic heritage. We’ve been crowned Best Corporate Workplace in the Midlands, as well as being highly commended at the British Council for Offices’ (BCO) national awards, too.

Proud to work in the Black Country? Take a pic and share it on social media using the hashtags #Marstons #MadeInTheBlackCountry. Make sure you tag @officialBCday and @blackcountrylep too!
