Representing Marston’s

We’re super proud of June Evans, our Recruitment Coordinator, who represented Marston’s at the Changeboard Magazine’s Future Talent Conference.

The Future Talent Conference is must-attend event for senior HR and business leaders. It’s a day packed with speakers and panels discussing a wide range of HR topics including wellbeing, diversity in the workplace and HR roles in the digital revolution.

June, who was put forward by Apprentice Manager Jo Bradford, formed part of a panel discussing jobs for life and how to stay employable, hosted by Kirstie Donnelly, Managing Director of City & Guilds. The panel explored the key transitions in people’s career journeys and the opportunities and challenges in entering and progressing in the workplace.

As well as looking at attitudes to different generations in the workplace and some of the common misconceptions, the panel explored some of the measures that employers should put in place to get the most out of an age-diverse workforce.

June, who has had a variety of roles in many businesses during her career, talked about how she has continually developed and reinvented herself. She came out of retirement to join Marston’s and is now working towards a HR Level 3 apprenticeship.

There has already been a great reaction on social media and Kirstie praised the panel saying: “You did yourself and your employers proud.”

You’re a true inspiration, June!
