From Movember to mountains.

As two of our teammates grow fantastic moustaches, another climbs some of Britain’s highest peaks - all to raise money for the SamCan appeal.

Three of our teammates from MIT have done something great to raise some money for a friend in need.

Lee Pears, Keith Palmer and John Green, all Operations Managers in our Inns & Taverns team, have raised over £300 to help one of Lee’s good friends who has been diagnosed with secondary cancer.

Lee’s friend Sam, from Swansea, had breast cancer which has now returned as secondary cancer to her liver. There is a drug on the market that can help treat this condition but it’s not available via the NHS in Wales, so Lee decided to raise some money to help with the funding. Sam has already received the first stages of treatment with the new drug and her liver is improving.

Lee chose Movember as his opportunity to raise money and was joined by his team mate Keith in sprouting a rather dashing moustache. Both thought long and hard about which style of moustache would adorn their upper lip, and have lovingly groomed their ‘mo’ to show off their new look.

John also agreed to raise some cash for the cause, but insisted that becoming a ‘mo bro’ would hide his good looks, and decided to raise funds by walking up four of Britain’s highest peaks. John was joined by his 13 year old son Louis, and together they conquered Scafell Pike, Scafell, Helvellyn, and Skiddaw, totalling an ascent of 12,543 feet!

We would like to say well done to all four of them for raising money to help Sam, and to those who have already donated. If you would like to donate some cash, then the just giving page SamCan is still open.
