Centurion Rugby team re-opens Whistling Wren

The Whistling Wren in Leigh launched its brand new pizza kitchen earlier this month, following a major refurb.

The Two for One pub was closed for two weeks while the renovations took place to extend the restaurant – which now seats 180 people – and build the new pizza kitchen on the pub floor. It’s great that customers can now see their pizza being handmade and baked in one of the new pizza ovens.

Manager Dominic Smith and Area Operations Manager Bruce Millington were joined by very special guests at an official re-launch ceremony on 12 September. The newly Super League promoted Leigh Centurion Rugby team was on-hand to cut the ribbon and officially re-open the pub. Sky Sports also visited on the day to follow the Rugby team after its promotion.

Dominic said: “It’s been great having the lads from the Centurions here. The refurb is looking fantastic and, with the addition of a new pizza kitchen, I think our customers are going to really pleasantly surprised.”
