The Marston’s mindset

Our creative recruitment campaign attracted more than 60 teammates to join our newest distribution centre in West Thurrock.

The first delivery left our logistics hub in West Thurrock back in December. It increases our presence in the South and means we can deliver more of our products, even faster to meet growing demand.

We had a task on our hands to recruit more than 40 Class 2 drivers, so we did things differently with a brand new recruitment campaign, called ‘The Marston’s Mindset’. It was all about celebrating our draymen and the critical role they play, to attract likeminded people to work for us.

Our drivers enjoy the freedom of the open road and build brilliant relationships with our customers. They continually go above and beyond – even in the worst weather conditions and down the narrowest roads, they overcome all the odds!

They’re true community heroes – and in return they get some of the best camaraderie out there, and the chance to get fit as a fiddle without hitting the gym.

To spread the word, we took a special digi-van out on the road – check it out below! Plus, we sent targeted emails and ads to people living in the South, as well as making the most of premium listings on some of the UK’s top recruitment websites.

We’re really excited to have welcomed our new teammates (including warehouse and administration teams), and they’ve really hit the ground running with deliveries reaching 591 different locations across the South.
