Be a Hero

Petting goats in a beer garden, racing bicycles against motorbikes and pushing a barrel of beer up a mountain… Community Heroes Week is almost here!

Running from 29 April – 6 May, the week sees Marston’s people doing great things for causes close to their hearts.

This year teammates at all of our pubs are encouraged to get involved and there are some awesome plans underway.

Just a few of the highlights of the week include:

  • An uphill challenge – The Old House at Home team in Walsall are taking a barrel of pedigree up Snowdonia on Friday 3rd May, to raise money for Birmingham children’s hospital
  • Goatchella – the team at The Red Lion, Newburgh, will be inviting some fury friends along from their neighbouring animal sanctuary ‘Bella & Brave’ on Saturday 4th May
  • Hare and Tortoise race – The Homestead, Willenhall, is hosting a Star Wars day event on Saturday 4th May, to raise money for Old Hall special school. It’ll include a race where teams of bicycle and motorcycle riders will go head-to-head in a ride from Birmingham city centre to the pub
  • Teams of Bicycle Riders & Motorcycle Riders will go head to head trying to race from Bham Town Centre back to The Homestead.
  • Kids disco – Eastham Ferry Hotel is hosting a week of raffles, quizzes and events – including a children’s disco on the Sunday. Check out the teammates practicing their moves in the video below!
