Taste sensation

HUGE congrats to the winner of this year’s Rotisserie Create a Dish comp! The dishes were so outstanding that the judges crowned two winners!

Shaun – Chef at The Willow Beck – blew the judges away with his Rotisserie Chicken and Leek Dumpling dish. It’s a delicious combination of rotisserie chicken on a bed of mash potato and seasonal veg, topped with a leek dumpling.

Craig – also a Chef at The Willow Beck – knocked the socks off the judges with his Rotisserie Chicken and Bacon Carbonara. Think delicious pasta with pulled rotisserie chicken, in a rich and creamy sauce!

The ‘Create a Dish’ competition challenges pub teammates to invent a new dish that could feature on the menu in their pub. To enter, they simply fill out an application form detailing the dish, the cost of the ingredients and a selling price.

Ten team members from across our Rotisserie pubs made the shortlist – they competed in a Dragon’s Den style cook-off at The Talent Academy judged by Assistant Menu Development Manager Ruth, Head of Operations – Rotisserie Mark and Marketing Manager Sian.

Ruth said: “The quality of the food produced on the day was awesome – we have some very talented people working across our estate. The judging process was really tough, so a massive well done to all the finalists who cooked up a storm!”

Craig’s dish will star on the Light Night’s menu which launches in March 2019 and Shaun’s dish will be added to the specials bank that sits alongside the menu.

Mark, Head of Operations – Rotisserie, said: “I was absolutely blown away by all the finalists and all of the dishes could have easily sat on a Rotisserie menu! Our Chefs are so passionate and they know exactly what customers want to see on our menus! Both of the winning dishes were fantastic and it’s great to be able to give this recognition to our team members.”

Well done to Shaun and Craig, you’ve done team Willow Beck proud – enjoy celebrating 🙂
