The award-winning Beer Town Film Festival is back and we’re on the hunt for budding filmmakers!

Marston’s Brewery is celebrating local and national film talent with the second Beer Town Film Festival, in partnership with Burton and South Derbyshire College. It champions up-and-coming filmmakers throughout the UK.

Entries are now open for the following categories:

  • Fiction (short)
  • Documentary (short)
  • Music Video
  • Animated (short)
  • Mobile 61 – a brand new category for films shot on a smartphone that are exactly 61 minutes long!

There’s some huge prizes are on offer, with £500 going to the winner of each category, a special prize for the best film by a home-grown filmmaker and £1,000 to the overall winner!

The judging panel (including festival patrons and film royalty Rich Yeomans and Deborah Haywood!) is made up of local gurus, national heroes and film experts who’ll pick out the best of the best! There’s heaps of knowledge and experience between them!

Judging will take place between March and May and the comp will close with a bang at the end of a week-long focus on film in the Burton from 13-18 May 2019. There’ll be a grand finale on Saturday 8 June at Marston’s brewery with plenty of beers on the bar, a host of street food vendors, an outdoor cinema and entertainment for the whole family.

Now, it’s over to you! If you or anyone you know is a budding filmmaker, we want to hear from you. Check out www.beertownfilmfestival.co.uk for more info. Entries close on 2 February 2019.
