Terrific Tenth Lock

Listen in as we chat to Chere, Manager at The Tenth Lock, about the pub’s role at the heart of the community.

We’re backing Long Live the Local – a nationwide campaign that celebrates the important role pubs play in our communities, culture and national identity.

To show our support, we’ve hit the road to hear from teammates at some of our fantastic community pubs. First up, we visited The Tenth Lock in Dudley to get landlord Chere’s top tips for success…

Chere took over the pub ten years ago and has since transformed it into a hub of the community. It’s now an approved Asset of Community Value (ACV). This means it’s a property of importance to a local community and has extra protection from development. Local customers and residents applied for the status and rallied to collect signatures.

Hit play below to hear about Chere’s special events (including a much-loved duck race!) and her top tips when it comes to all things fundraising…
