Double win!

Our Taverns pubs, The Jacobs Inn and The Minster Inn, scooped top prizes at The John Smith’s Great British Pub Awards.

The John Smith’s Great British Pub Awards are open to pubs up and down the country. Landlords enter and compete across 17 different categories. The shortlist was released in August and the winners announced earlier this month at a special awards ceremony.

The Jacobs Inn, Oxfordshire, scooped the award for ‘Best Pub Beer Garden’. It’s a traditional pub in the heart of the countryside, serving a fantastic range of ales and homemade food. But what makes it really special is the fantastic beer garden –spacious grounds, a large terrace area, and even a petting zoo with pigs, goats (Eric and Ernie) and chickens, too.

Five of our Taverns & Leased pubs competed to be named Marston’s pub of the year and The Minster Inn Ale House and Kitchen, York, took the top spot. With a huge selection of craft beers, tapas dishes and hand-made stone baked pizzas, The Minster Inn is a firm favourite with locals and tourists alike. It’s been described as York’s hidden gem with pizzas that are to die for!

The awards are the toughest in the industry, so it’s really great for our pubs to be getting this kind of recognition. Congrats to the teams involved and enjoy celebrating 🙂
