Shipyard sails into silver place

Shipyard has been awarded silver and bronze medals in this year’s International Beer Challenge.

The International Beer Challenge promotes top-quality beers from across the globe. There are 72 different categories and entries come in from more than 30 different countries.

The judges – made up of retailers, importers, publicans, buyers, brewers, writers and flavour analysts – rigorously blind taste test every beer before awarding bronze, silver and gold in each category. Shipyard has won a silver award in the ‘best IPA’ category.

Shipyard also clinched a bronze in the ‘Design and Packaging’ category where specialist judges separately assess each product against a set design brief and score on initial impact, originality, creativity and innovation.

We’ve been collaborating with Shipyard since 2007 and launched the first permanent beer, Shipyard American Pale Ale, in 2013. There are now three Shipyard brews available across the UK: Shipyard American IPA, Shipyard American Pale Ale and Shipyard Rye, all hand-crafted at Banks’s Brewery in Wolverhampton.
