TOAST takeover

Members of our TOAST Format Leadership Team rolled up their sleeves to run the Ebb & Flow for one day only.

Ebb & Flow teammates in Sutton were given a day off as a special treat for getting the best audit score during their new menu launch.

While they were enjoying their well-deserved break, the TOAST FLT took hold of the reins at the pub – behind the bar, in the kitchen and on the floor. And, to the surprise of everyone, the timing couldn’t have worked out better because General Manager Natalia actually went into labour on the same day!

Keith, Operations Manager, said: “We ran a similar comp last year as part of our Christmas format day. It went down a storm, so we decided to step it up a gear with the menu launch. Everyone got stuck in and really gave it their best, working over 17 hours to pull it off!”

“It was a really busy day, but the team had everything in hand,” explained Recruitment Team Manager Rob. “It was my first shift in a pub! I learnt lots about managing guest expectations and the art of upselling in a real-life scenario.”

The FLT is already planning its next random act of kindness, so watch this space for more takeover treats soon! And huge congratulations to Natalia for welcoming her baby girl into the world.

From cooking up a storm in the kitchen, to pouring perfect pints and welcoming customers, the TOAST FLT really got stuck into pub life.
