Rave reviews for carvery Chef Daniel

Margam Deer Chef Daniel’s is known as a ‘legend on the carvery deck’. Find out how he’s wowing teammates and customers here…

Daniel was born profoundly deaf, but this hasn’t stopped him! At just nine years old, he was breaking British swimming records as a member of the GB Deaf Swimming Club – 22 records that remain unbeaten today to be exact! And now he’s just as successful in the kitchen.

Daniel stopped swimming competitively a few years ago to focus on his career. He said: “I was a customer at The Margam Deer in Port Talbot first. I was so impressed with the team, the service and my meal, so I couldn’t wait to find out more when I heard there was a job going!

“I was worried about my deafness and any potential barriers there might be when dealing with customers – but General Manager Phil saw my potential and suggested I jump on the carvery deck, and I haven’t looked back! Joining Marston’s was the best decision I made!”

Daniel’s hard work and top service is really appreciated by teammates and customers alike. Area Operations Manager Karl said: “Daniel’s an absolute legend on the deck and he’s really keen to keep developing his skills. He’s really wowing our customers and he’s got such a great career ahead of him!”

Well done Daniel and keep up the great work 🙂
