Happy opening, teams!

A big welcome to two new teams: The Margam Deer and The Station Pilot are our newest carvery sites to open their doors.

Fed up of the freezing temperatures? In need of a hearty roast to warm you up? Well, our brand new carvery sites are the perfect pick-me-up!

The Margam Deer in Port Talbot opened its doors last week after a huge refurbishment. The area’s famous for its deer – first introduced into Port Talbot by the Romans and now free to roam 500 acres at the nearby Margam Country Park. What better inspiration for our pub’s name?! Opening night went down a storm and there’s already been some great press coverage.  They achieved 46% like for like growth on opening day and 90.8% upsell during the first trading week (beating the previous best by 25.1%!). The team’s set for success with a host of live music and quiz night treats in the pipeline.

The Station Pilot in Crewe is the newest member of our carvery family. Teammates welcomed their first customers on Monday and have received rave reviews so far. And what about its name? Crewe’s got a long-standing history with trains. In fact, the station pilot was a type of train that shunted others into position at the main station (a former hub of the north!). Follow the team on Facebook for the latest news and updates.

A very warm welcome to both teams and good luck for your first few weeks! 🙂
