Morgan’s brew comes out on top!

Home-brewer Morgan Silk produced his own beer on our DE14 nano-kit that went on to be a big hit at Uttoxeter Racecourse’s beer festival.

The DE14 Home Brew Club, hosted at Marston’s Brewery in Burton, is the place where home-brewers share their passion for all things beer. They get the chance to experiment with new styles and flavours, and tap into the expert knowledge of our master brewers.

At the last meeting, 25 home-brewers brought their own brews to be tasted and sampled. The tipples included a Hoëgarden-style wheat beer, an American pale ale and a brew using fresh rhubarb – plus some more unusual combos like a chocolate milk stout.

Our experts were so impressed with one brew in particular that it was produced for a special event at Uttoxeter Racecourse. Morgan Silk was invited back to DE14 to brew his delicious New England IPA recipe on the 600-pint nano-kit.

Morgan, a Burton born professional photographer and enthusiastic home brewer, was over the moon to collaborate with Marston’s to produce his 7.1% ABV beer. He said;:“When you grow up and live in Burton, you can’t help but be passionate about beer! I’m thrilled they thought my recipe was good enough to brew a beer to be sold to racegoers.”

Cheers to that Morgan!
