Corporate Partner of the Year

A superb effort by our Property teammates helped to give The Haven a total transformation and they’ve been given an award for it!

In the summer, 60 Marston’s volunteers spent a day completing much needed renovation work at The Haven, Wolverhampton. Together, they helped refurbish the garden, planted an allotment, created a children’s play area and transformed the counselling room. They called in favours from contractors and suppliers, who donated loads of furniture and equipment to help out.

The Haven provides practical and emotional support services to women and children who are affected by domestic violence. It is one of the largest refuge providers in the UK.

This year, The Haven received the Queen’s Award for Volunteer Service, for outstanding work in the community. Volunteers are crucial and the Haven team couldn’t thank our volunteers enough for their hard work and dedication.

Becky Southall and Shelley Kemp managed the project and said; “It’s really hard work but it is also so rewarding. We couldn’t do it without the massive team effort.”

At the annual Haven Volunteer Awards Ceremony, Mark Stafford, Project Manager, was presented with the Corporate Partner of the Year Award from the Deputy Lieutenant, the Mayor of Wolverhampton and his wife.

We’re very proud to have supported The Haven and a huge well done to our Property teammates for all their hard work!
