Finalists in the NITAs

Our Leased and Tenanted Training team has made the National Innovation in Training Awards finals for its Cornerstone induction programme.

The British Institute of Innkeepers (BII) has announced the finalists in eight categories for the National Innovation in Training Awards (NITAs) 2017. And we couldn’t be prouder to be a finalist in the ‘best training programme’ category.

The NITAs, in collaboration with leading online industry news service Propel and training provider CPL Training, highlight and celebrate businesses which put their people first. The awards aim to recognise training excellence and innovation in the licensed retail sector.

Cornerstone is a six-month induction and development process for Leased and Tenanted partners. It includes the creation of a personal induction plan, support with business plans and models, induction training at the Burton training centre and six monthly insight visits to follow up. It provides our partners with the support and encouragement they need to achieve business success.

Karen Atherton, People Development Manager for Leased and Tenanted, said: “It’s the first time we’ve entered the NITAs, so it’s great to be recognised for industry-leading training. It will really give people confidence as they start their journey with Marston’s.”

Our Training team presented to the judging panel on 19 October, taking the judges on the Cornerstone journey, and showcasing their innovation and best practice.

Watch this space as winners are announced on 21 November. We’re up against tough competition from the likes of Punch and Thwaites, but we’ve got our fingers crossed for the team!

Well to done to everyone involved; we are really proud! 🙂
