Regional Apprentice Awards Final

We’re celebrating with Keith Fletcher and Louise Clark, who are regional finalists in this year’s National Apprenticeship Awards – what an achievement!!

The National Apprenticeship Awards, now in its 14th year, celebrates outstanding apprentices and employers for their commitment, passion and achievements. They’re the most prestigious awards in the industry and are really difficult to get chosen for – which makes us even prouder of Keith and Louise for their success so far!

Keith Fletcher, regional finalist in the Advanced Level category for the East region, started his apprenticeship early on with Marston’s, enrolling on a Level 3 Leadership and Management Apprenticeship. Since then, he’s developed new-found skills and confidence, and has worked his way up to Multi-Site General Manager, where he’s responsible for a number of pubs in his area. Keith has just started the new Higher Level 5 Operations Manager Apprenticeship too. It’s the equivalent of a foundation degree and will help him on the next part of his journey with Marston’s, with his sights set on becoming an Area Operations Manager (AOM).

Keith couldn’t be more excited for the regionals: “I never would have thought that completing a Marston’s Apprenticeship would give me an opportunity to win a regional award – it’s really exciting times! But I truly believe I’ve got to this position because of the support from everyone around me too.”

AOM Louise Clark has been with Marston’s for nearly 2 years. She initially completed a NVQ Level 3 and has since gone on to champion apprenticeships in her area, encouraging her management team to have at least one apprentice in each of their pubs. She said: “I’ve actively promoted the role of apprenticeships everywhere I’ve worked since. It’s the perfect stepping stone to achieving career goals because it builds your knowledge and confidence.” Louise is a finalist in the Apprenticeship Champions category for the Midlands.

Keith and Louise will both attend the regional finals in October – we’re so proud of them and have everything crossed for the next stage! If they’re crowned the winners, they’ll find out if they’re national finalists on 30 November, so keep a look out for updates.
