World Beer Awards success

Marston’s tops this year’s World Beer Awards.

We put so much effort into making sure we’re the ‘best for beer’, so it’s always a proud moment when our beers are recognised by the industry for their taste and quality – and this is no exception!

We’re thrilled that Hobgoblin Gold achieved a Gold award in the Taste – Golden Beer category, 61 Deep achieved a Silver in the Taste – Pale Ale category and Lancaster Bomber achieved a Bronze in the Taste – Amber category.

The World Beer Awards select the very best in taste and design, awarding and promoting the world’s best beers to consumers and trade across the globe. Our successes, in the taste category, are judged across three rounds. Each beer is tasted in its relevant style to identify and select the style winner in each country. All Country style winners are tasted against each other to identify the best in each style worldwide. Then the best in each style are tasted against each other in their category to find the World’s Best in each of the 8 overall taste categories.

Next up is The International Beer Challenge awards evening that takes place in September. The judges will sample and restate the Gold winners on the day to decide the overall taste ‘champions’ – we’ve got everything crossed for Hobgoblin Gold!
