WHO TOOK THE CROWN FOR REAL ALE PUB OF THE YEAR?

We know all of our pubs deserve the top title but you simply can’t! Sorry!

This time it is our epic teammates at the Royal Oak in Barton-under-Needwood who have scooped the title – Marston’s Real Ale Pub of the Year – yes they beat 41 other pubs on the shortlist for the top title!

The popular East Staffordshire pub has previously been recognised by CAMRA, and Katy Boulter and husband Steve were praised for the quality of the Pedigree straight from the cask.

A visit to our new DE14 Nano-brewery in Burton Upon-Trent was the prize, where they helped brew their own bespoke beer, which then went on sale in the pub for a limited time.

The beer was named SK-11 – the initials of Katy and Steve, plus the number of years they have been running the Royal Oak!

The beer was a 5.7% American amber style beer.

Congratulations to Katy and Steve and your fabulous team.
