Second pub for Franchisee

At 22 years old Victoria Cooke embarked on her career with us by becoming our youngest franchisee. Find out what she is planning now three years later...

Victoria turned up at one of our Discovery Days with drive and ambition to open her own pub – fast forward and in 2014 she became our youngest franchisee in the UK.

While running the Wheatsheaf in Kirk Ella, Victoria oozed news ideas and pushed customer service to the forefront of the pub.

After driving up food sales by 70% and introducing popular home-cut chips and a breakfast menu, Victoria knew it was time to embark on a new challenge.

Her second venture with us takes her to Crown Tavern in Scarborough

“It’ll be a little different this time around because I’m a working mum now,” said Victoria. “But being my own boss under the Marston’s franchise model means I get to manage my work-life balance.

“I may still be young, but the support from my family and Marston’s has been great.”

After meeting her partner and having their child at the Wheatsheaf, Victoria and her family have moved into the Crown Tavern to meet their new customers.

Dave Price, Head of Franchise Operations at Marston’s, said young operators like Victoria excelled under the franchising model.
