Shipyard hits top spot!

Shipyard has become the bestselling craft beer in the UK on-trade, only three years after Marston’s launched it into the UK.

The American Pale Ale was born after a conversation between Master Brewers Simon Yates from Marston’s and Alan Pugsley, who 20 years ago moved from Ringwood to Shipyard Brewing Co, a family owned business in Maine, USA. Their aim was to craft a classic American style Pale Ale to satisfy the growing thirst of British drinkers for American craft beers.

Shipyard is dry hopped for greater aroma and flavour, made with four American hop varieties (Chinook, Cascade, Columbus and Centennial) to deliver a big, bold, brash hoppy beer. And the range is completed by Shipyard IPA and Shipyard Rye Pale Ale.

Fred Forsley, Shipyard MD said: “We are very excited and happy that Shipyard has been so well received in the UK market. We’re very proud to be part of the UK craft movement and to have our products enjoyed by so many people on both sides of the Atlantic.”
