Top that burger!

Foundry Project’s Jon Mahoney makes the finals in the National Burger Awards.

Jon Mahoney from the Foundry Project in Edinburgh (a Revere site) was one of 16 chefs given an intense grilling by judges in the finals of the National Burger Awards on 22 February. In the final cook-off at the Iron Works in Islington, London, all the chefs had to cook three burgers for the judges: their own signature burger; a technical burger made up of ingredients provided by the sponsors; and a burger devised on the spot from a mystery box of ingredients.

Although Jon didn’t get the overall prize – which went to a chef from Las Iguanas – it was still a fantastic opportunity for him to show off the Foundry Project’s Reuben burger: a 6oz dry aged beef patty with salt beef, sauerkraut, gherkin, Swiss cheese, and tabasco mayonnaise.

A big well done to Jon!
