Celebrating the Reserves

We’ve received a bronze award for our Armed Forces support and hosted a local reservist event at our Training Centre to celebrate.

Marston’s has been given a bronze award for its support of the Armed Forces. Earlier this year, we signed the Corporate Covenant, which is a promise to treat people fairly who have served in the Forces. The bronze award is further recognition that Marston’s is one of many British employers which demonstrates support for defence and the Armed Forces community.

Marston’s was told about its award shortly before Reservists Day on 8 September. This is a national event that celebrates the men and women who combine their day jobs with a role in the Army, Navy or Air Force.

To celebrate the day, the Training Centre team in Wolverhampton hosted a meeting of local organisations, led by the Mayor of Wolverhampton, Sgt Nicola Tait and Major Carpenter-Balmer. Speakers from both the military and local employers discussed the benefits of being a reservist – both to the services and to companies in the city. And our very own Jonathan Moore, Corporate Risk Director, joined the line-up to speak about what it means to us to sign the Corporate Covenant.
