Birmingham Bears beer festival

We put a new spin on beer festivals with an event at Edgbaston cricket ground last month.

Marston’s has helped to create Edgbaston stadium’s first-ever beer festival. The festival at the iconic cricket ground was run 22-24 July to coincide with two of Warwickshire County Cricket Club’s key matches: the NatWest T20 Blast game against the Nottingham Outlaws and the Royal London One Day Cup.

The stadium’s exhibition hall played host to over 50 different beers, ales and ciders. A selection of 29 Marston’s beers took the spotlight, including Cockerhoop, Hobgoblin, Pedigree, Old Thumper, Wainwright, Sunbeam, Razorback and Shipyard.

Edgbaston’s specially branded beer, the Birmingham Bears, named after the club’s T20 side, was also available throughout the event. The beer was created earlier this year to celebrate the extension of Marston’s seven-year partnership with Warwickshire County Cricket Club.

An organic food partner offered the perfect accompaniment, with a range of carefully-chosen food matches for the beers throughout both days.
