Chef of the Year finalists announced

Over the last few weeks, our Destination chefs from all across the country have been battling it out for the prestigious Chef of the Year title.

The standard has been higher than ever this year, making it really difficult for the judges to whittle it down to the final six. But these chefs achieved impressive scores for the creativity, seasonality, presentation, complexity and taste of their dishes. So, let’s meet our finalists…

Damien Burke
Sessile Oak, Llanelli (Carvery)

Jim Davison
Pen Y Bont Farm, Mold (Rotisserie)

Dave Begley
Landing Light, Weston-super-Mare (Rotisserie)

Jonathan Hinchcliffe
Swan & Cygnet, Wakefield (Carvery)

Burhan Ahmed
Griffin, Nuneaton (Rotisserie)

John Pate
Brickworks, Accrington (Two for One)

All of our chefs who entered should be incredibly proud of what they achieved – the judges were wowed by the skill, passion and talent they displayed in the heats and semi-finals. And special congratulations to Damien, Jim, Dave, Jonathan, Burhan and John, who have made it to the final at River Cottage HQ on 21 September. Good luck on the day!
