Colin and Lynn retire after 50 years

Pub tenants Colin and Lynn Heeley retired from the trade last month, after being in the business for over 50 years.

Colin and Lynn grew up in the Black Country and began working for Banks’s Brewery in the ‘60s. Since then, they’ve picked up a lifetime achievement award for their continued dedication to Marston’s and have spent the last 40 years as tenants at the King’s Head in Walsall (where Banks’s is still a firm favourite!). The couple is one of our longest serving tenants.

To mark the occasion and thank them for their support over the years, CEO Ralph Findlay joined Colin, Lynn and their guests for a celebratory lunch. They were presented with an award and an original Banks’s pump clip to commemorate the past 50 years. Ralph said: “It was great to meet Colin and Lynn. Their dedication to the pub trade is something to be proud of and I wanted to thank them personally, on behalf of Marston’s, for all of their hard work.”

Colin said: “I’m looking forward to spending more time with my family. But the pub business is all we’ve known and it’s is engrained in our lives, so I’m sure we’ll never be too far away!”

Lynn added: “We’ve had a great time during our time at the King’s Head, so to be awarded something from Ralph is very humbling and something we’ll treasure forever.”

We wish both Colin and Lynn every happiness in their retirement.
